International Women's Day 2025

Today, the whole world celebrates International Women's Day. This symbolic day is an opportunity to look at public and regional policies that constitute the essential basis for improving the conditions of women in West Africa. This involves taking gender into account through inclusive policies. In accordance with its 2050 vision, ECOWAS is working for greater participation of women in the economic and social sectors in order to reduce gender inequalities. In the areas of sport, youth and volunteering in West Africa, the ECOWAS Youth and Sports Development Centre is part of this dynamism through concrete initiatives in favor of gender equality. Today, we can express our satisfaction by paying tribute to the women who distinguished themselves with exceptional performances during the 2025 editions of the ECOWAS Abuja International Marathon and African Wrestling Tournament, held this March 2025 in Abuja, Federal Republic of Nigeria. #InternationalWomensDay #WomenEmpowerment #WomenInLeadership #GenderEquality #WomenForChange
