"We are committed to making West Africa a region where peace, democratic governance and respect for the constitutional order prevail, in the knowledge that no economic or social transformation can be sustainable without security and the rule of law. In this regard, we reaffirm our policy of zero tolerance towards unconstitutional changes of government, in accordance with the 2001 Additional Protocol on Democracy and Good Governance.”
