The ECOWAS Centre for Youth and Sports Development (CDJS) has officially launched the ECOWAS Entrepreneurship Programme for Youth and Women (EYWEP), an initiative designed to strengthen entrepreneurial capacities and promote innovation, job creation and the economic empowerment of young people and women in Member States. Implemented in partnership with the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), the programme provides young and women entrepreneurs with opportunities for training, support, mentoring, networking and market access, thereby making a sustainable contribution to economic development and regional integration in West Africa.
