International Women's Day Message from His Excellency Francis Chuks NJOAGUANI, Director of ECOWAS Youth and Sports Development Centre and interim Resident Representative of ECOWAS in Burkina Faso Today, March 8, the international community commemorates the 167th International Women's Day. This commemoration symbolizes the commitment to the development of women, equality, social justice, and peace in the world. Women are an important component of our community, and ECOWAS is committed to enabling them to contribute to community development and regional integration. We salute the work that they do daily for the West Africa region and for the improvement of the living conditions of our communities. In a region marked by challenges linked to peace, security and socio-cultural constraints which slow down their momentum, they remain resilient in the face of these challenges and continue to play their role as stakeholders in the service of our communities. It is a gift of selflessness and great sacrifice worthy of praise. I salute the excellent work being accomplished by the women of the ECOWAS Youth and Sports Development Center and those of the ECOWAS Permanent Representation in Burkina Faso in the implementation of community and regional integration policies for an ECOWAS of the people, for peace and prosperity. I salute all the women who fight for a better ECOWAS and a better world! Let us invest in women and accelerate progress! Happy Women's Day to you all
