The Interim Resident Representative of ECOWAS in Burkina Faso receives in audience the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for West Africa and the Sahel The Interim Resident Representative of ECOWAS in Burkina Faso, Francis Chuks NJOAGUANI, received in audience on Thursday, March 07, 2024, at the premises of the ECOWAS Permanent Representation, H.E. Leonardo Santos SIMAO, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for West Africa and the Sahel, currently on an official visit to Ouagadougou. The objective of the meeting was to discuss issues related to regional peace and security. The two diplomats also discussed the political and security situation in Burkina Faso, as well as the decision of this member State to withdraw from ECOWAS. The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General was accompanied by his Special Assistant, his Senior Political Advisor and the Resident Coordinator of the United Na-tions System and Acting Humanitarian Coordinator for Burkina Faso. -------------FIN-----------------
