The ECOWAS Volunteers’ Programme in Liberia kicks off the year with capacity-building training on leadership and project management

The ECOWAS Volunteers’ Programme in Liberia begins the year with capacity-building training on leadership and project management at LIPA to equip the volunteers with the essential leadership skills and knowledge to effectively lead and manage projects and to deliver successful projects within their remit. The training covers: 1. Project management techniques, including methodologies, tools and techniques; planning, scope management, scheduling, budgeting, risk assessment and monitoring. Practical exercises and group discussions reinforced the volunteers’ understanding of project management. 2. Leadership Skills Development: This focused on building leadership skills by covering topics such as communication, decision-making, problem-solving and conflict resolution. Volunteers took part in interactive activities, role-plays and case studies to develop their leadership abilities. It is expected that the knowledge gained from this training will enhance the quality and success of future projects undertaken by ECOWAS volunteers at their duty stations.
