New Year's message from the Director of the EYSDC, Interim Resident Representative of ECOWAS in Burkina Faso The year 2023 ended with its share of emotions, opportunities, challenges and above all hope for our region. Another one begins with its promises of joy, happiness and fulfillment. In this new year 2024, I would like to wish all ECOWAS staff in Ouagadougou and their families, a season of peace, happiness and prosperity. In my capacity as Interim Resident Representative of ECOWAS in Burkina Faso, I salute the sacrifices made and the quality of the work accomplished by the staff, often in difficult and uncertain conditions. I appreciate the conviviality, the communion and the civilities shown over the past year, which without a doubt, have contributed to maintaining a good working environment in our various offices and to achieving sometimes unprecedented results. Your sustained commitment to duty and service reinforces the determination of the Commission, which is to build an ECOWAS of the people, with peace and prosperity for all by the year 2050. I express my satisfaction with this constant commitment and invite you to continue to promote these fundamental values ​​for the development of our Community and the achievement of the ECOWAS vision. I seize this opportunity to salute and pay tribute to their Excellencies Tiéna Coulibaly, former Resident Representative of ECOWAS in Burkina Faso and Kouassivi Bougonou Djeri-Alassani, former Director of the ECOWAS Water Resources Management Center (EWRMC), both now retired from service, for the progress made during their tenures. I renew my wishes for success, good health and happiness in your well-deserved retirement. I also welcome Mr. Kouakou Alexis Kouassi, the incoming director of the EWRMC, into our little ECOWAS family in Ouagadougou, by wishing him a warm welcome among us and every success in his new assignment. I express the wish for a region where the people know peace always, so that ECOWAS may fully play its role of integrating its citizens into a community of shared peace and prosperity.
